The Project for the Construction of Secondary Schools Aimed at Promoting Inclusive Education
Background
The goal of educational sector in Swaziland is to achieve full enrolment of primary and early secondary education. The expansion of secondary education and educational opportunities in rural areas are priorities. The government is also building a school where students with disabilities can attend and study because of educational policy of openness to all.
Therefore, the government of Swaziland has planned to build facilities for inclusive education, and implement "The Project for the Construction of Secondary Schools aimed at promoting Inclusive Education" with Japanese grant aid.
Project description
For this project, four sites have been selected in Swaziland. The project was designed to provide facilities and equipment for inclusive education by using local companies. In the design process, we considered the needs of the disability-friendly, cost reduction, and the climate of the Swaziland.
